Lemonille is the pseudonym used by the multi-instrumentalist and composer Nicola Masseria to present his first solo single “Synopsis”.
In spite of two years of his musical project as a solo artist, Synopsis was composed five years ago when the Italian artist moved from France to Sitges, Barcelona. It wasn’t until 2018 that he began recording the song that finally saw light in 2020.
The single has been released under the Barcelona independent record label Giant Pulse Records, mixed and mastered by Giuliano Gius Cobelli. In the artist’s own words, Synopsis reflects “nostalgia and melancholy, a feeling of lost belonging that I was hoping to find in a new place”.
Lemonille’s sound is intensely influenced by legendary artists who are pioneers of new wave and synth pop, such as Depeche Mode, The Cure and AIR. The integration of his vocal tone together the experimental electronic sound of his songs reminds us of the most recent solo work of Radiohead’s leader, Thom Yorke.
