Red Hot Chili Peppers announced last Sunday December 15 2020 through their Instagram account that Josh Klinghoffer would separate from the Los Angeles band and celebrates the coming back of their biggest creative member, John Frusciante.
After an inactive decade (in terms of stages), John Frusciante returns to begin his third period with Chili Peppers, who have always achieved their greatest successes when the 49-year-old guitarist has been a member. The news of the return of who was named in 2010 as the best guitarist of the last 30 years, according to the BBC, has surprised fans of the Californian band and lovers of the world of the six strings.
Just a month ago Michael “Flea” Balzary confirmed the production of a new album that would be released “next year sometime, for sure”. He assured that the band was meeting and had already started to write.
It is yet to be revealed whether all the material they may have made for the new album has already been signed by John Frusciante, or whether Josh Klinghoffer‘s participation will still be there in the studio.
What we all know for sure is that we won’t take long to see onstage the band magic formation, creators of some of the great rock albums of all time such as “Blood Sugar Sex Magik”, “Californication” or the mega-commercial “Stadium Arcadium”. Red Hot Chili Peppers official website has already announced the band participation in different festivals around the US and Europe during the next summer.
On his side, Josh Klinghoffer is also in the news since in the last few weeks he presented his first solo album. Released under the alias Pluralone, “To Be One With You” (November 22) will include 10 different tracks that the artist has conceived with star collaborators such as Flea, or ex-RHCP member Jack Irons.
